I brought home a bit of spring green with this old bottle and striped linen tea towel. I absolutely love these old striped tea towels, but don't find them often without embroidery on them. I was thrilled to find this one for just $1.
The bottle was a fun find...As I was making my first sweep around the market, I noticed a busy booth surrounded with people. I hurried over, wondering what all the commotion was about. A woman was selling very very old things for pennies, and people were scooping them up right and left. As I was attempting to grab a few items, I noticed a woman who I see often and know is a dealer at one of my favorite antique malls. She had a great pile of stuff, including a wonderful old hanging wire basket. I was so sad I hand't gotten there just a few moments earlier to snap it up. I may have to purchase it from her at the antique mall : )
I absolutely love this tall marble lamp with its simple lines and classic column details. This shade isn't quite right for it, but it's from one of my other lamps and I just used it for the pictures.
I also found an aqua transferware tureen...
and a great ironstone pitcher with pretty detailing on the handle.
This old salt sack has wonderful typography.
I can't resist purchasing old wire egg baskets whenever I find them. I think their shape is so interesting, and I especially love them flattened and hung on a wall.
An old horse weathervane makes such a graphic statement. Weathervanes are one of my favorite collectibles.
And just in time for Valentine's Day, I also purchased a pair of vintage botanical prints in scalloped white frames.
All these items will be available at The Cottage Collective - probably next week.
Hope you all are having a great week!
