12th and White Sale Recap

You guys...there are truly not words to express how I felt this Saturday! The 12th and White Sale was  HUGE success, and I felt so humbled and honored that so many of you came out! I was seriously blown away by the turn-out, support, excitement and kind words. Ya'll are AMAZING!

I only managed to grab a few quick iPhone shots before the gate opened, but we do have gorgeous professional photos coming from the incredible Melissa Click Photography (more on her soon!) so I will post those as soon as I get them. For now I'll tell you about the day from my perspective.

First of all, my dear best friend Meg sent me this gorgeous bouquet of flowers the day before the sale to wish me good luck. Wasn't that just the sweetest?! She even had them do it in white and peach - my branding colors. She is the best!

Here is the only shot I got of the bulk of the sale items - I promise there will be much better photos coming from Melissa! Joey (she did all the furniture) and I stayed up pretty late the night before finishing things up and getting everything ready. Then I think we were both up by 5:30 or so the next morning. We began bringing things out to the yard at 7 a.m. and it took us the entire 3 hours to get everything out and styled. We were ready to go with just minutes to spare! It had rained during the night so the grass was pretty wet, so we put tarps down under each piece of furniture. But thankfully there was no rain the day of, and the weather was simply gorgeous!

I have to tell you, at this point my hands were shaking and I was so overwhelmed with nervousness and excitement. These were taken just moments before we opened the gate! I loved every piece we had for sale and I think it all turned out so beautifully!

Here is a shot my friend snapped of the line waiting to get in. We opened at 10 and my husband said people were waiting in their cars at 9 and and lined up down the driveway by 9:15. This was seriously so, so amazing and humbling to me! The moment when I opened the gate and let everyone in was probably one of the best moments of my life. I was so honored by everyone's support and enthusiasm. And let me tell you - you girls came to shop! I sort of described that moment as the "running of the bulls." I think most were literally jogging in - not just walking! And I don't blame you one bit...you are my kind of ladies!! : )

Honestly, I was pretty nearly wiped out within the first 15 minutes, and basically sold out by noon. This still just amazes me! I had no idea how successful the sale would be and I am so very humbled by it. I did feel really bad for those arriving a little later and being disappointed there was not much available. I think those waiting in line pretty well cleaned me out, and I heard several say on Facebook that they were there by 10:15-10:30 and were sad they missed out. I hope to have even more next time so this won't happen! Or perhaps do a paid ticket to get in the first hour so maybe it will even things out? Not sure yet, but I am sorry if you felt you missed out on things.

I do have just a bit left which I will post here on the blog tomorrow. There is a preview shot on Instagram if you want to check things out.

This piece of Joey's was so gorgeous. She painted it white with chalk paint and I helped her distress and glaze it. I think it turned out beautifully!

I don't think I've ever styled so fast in my life! I was putting together vignettes crazy fast - trying to get everything to look beautiful but hustling big time!

Sorry these are just wonky snaps - at least you can sort of see what was available! I loved that chippy green trunk of Joey's - though it really didn't sell and she let it go at the end of the day for a song. It's always funny to me what does and doesn't go quickly!

I was obsessed with this marble top chest of Joey's! I so wish I could have kept it for myself : ) A friend snapped it up so I'm so glad it went to a good home, but seriously it's gorgeous! I'm keeping an eye out for a similar piece for Joey to paint for me. You can see the baluster lamp turned out really pretty, and I loved styling the chest with soft whites and grays.

This desk and chair is one of the two furniture pieces still available. I'm just shocked it didn't sell! I love how we ended up styling it. My favorite botanical prints are tucked into the drawers and I think the bird cage and fern make it so fun. The other balusters were snapped up first thing of course!

Ah my lovely church pew. Surprisingly, it didn't sell at the sale. I've since sold it via Facebook, but I was surprised no one wanted to take it home. We lined it with all sorts of fun pillows and it was a great spot to sit towards the end of the day as the shoppers thinned.

Here you can see my attempt at a magnolia wreath. It didn't turn out like I had hoped because I couldn't find the right wreath form. I am going to order the right one online and try it again, so if that works out look for some magnolia wreaths for sale soon!

This is Joey and me with some of our sweet friends who stopped by. I knew so many of you who came and it just meant the world to me that so many of my "real life" friends are so supportive of what I do! I just love you girls!

The two trees in our backyard are pear trees and right now they are full of fruit. They are beautiful to look at but man are they a pain to constantly clean up. Some of the girls were so excited we had pears and loved picking them! This is my friend Megan displaying her picks in a vintage egg basket : ) I was just happy there were less pears to pick up!

Sweet Joey - my partner in crime. She has a lot on her plate right now between grad school and a full-time job, so I was so thrilled she agreed to do the sale with me (in case you don't know yet, I really hate redoing furniture - it's just not my thing!). She did a phenomenal job on all her pieces, everyone was loving them and she sold all but two pieces! Way to go, Jo!

This is a screen grab of a preview shot from Melissa Click Photography. She was so incredibly kind to come and take photos. I will talk much more about that when I share her images, but just know that this picture means so much to me. The day was amazing and such a huge blessing. I hope each of you realizes how much I appreciate your love and support, even if you just read this little blog and couldn't make it to the sale. I am truly beyond thrilled and flattered and hope to provide you guys with even more vintage goodies at the next 12th and White Sale. Thank you for following along, attending and buying. it simply means the world to me.
