Our Entryway {Accessorizing with Home Decorators Collection}

Recently I did a little styling in our entryway. It's a breezy space that connects the hearth room, living room and bedroom hall. When we were looking for a house I knew I wanted a home with an entry space to help guests feel welcomed.

As you know, I love using architectural pieces throughout the house, especially windows. I added visual interest with a wicker basket and cotton branches without taking up floor space.

Here is the entire space. It's narrow, so no room for real furniture, but I was able to create a little vignette by the front door.

The starting point was this classic black Adeline Lantern from Home Decorators Collection. Home Decorators is one of my favorite places to find furniture and decor, and when I listed them as a great "secret source" for budget decorating, they reached out to see if I'd like to partner with them. Well of course!

I ordered the lantern not really sure what I would do with it. But I knew I loved the classic lines and that it could go anywhere in our home. Once it came, I knew it would be beautiful in the entry. I "shopped the house" and pulled items from other rooms to create a welcoming little area that finishes off the space. Eventually I do plan to paint the door and also replace the door hardware and light fixture.

I pulled the garden bench from the guest room and the wicker baskets from my shop stash. The black convex mirror was a TJ Maxx find I was saving until I had a spot for it - I think this is the perfect place!

I recently purchased this little hyacinth plant on a trip to Arizona from the most charming shop called Edelweiss, which was sadly going out of business. I really wish I would have bought more from them as their wares were gorgeous and everything was half off. I love the pop of green it adds to this space.

Here you can see the flow from the kitchen. I never really thought of the entry as bare, but now that there are furnishings there it fills the space visually so much more. I was surprised at how much it made the entire room feel more finished.

And of course I couldn't resist a few extra shots of our kitchen and hearth room with pretty spring blooms.

I also purchased the Grace 3-Tier Tray from Home Decorators and I absolutely love it! I had been looking for a tiered stand like this and this one is perfect. It finishes off the buffet, but will also be great for serving at parties.

I was also able to get this set of faux pears. I love things like this as a finishing touch or vase filler. It adds color and life to a room without having to have fresh flowers or fruit always on hand. The quality is beautiful.

I love the rustic washed finish of the stand combined with the metal detailing. It's the perfect mix of raw and elegant.

I have one more {big!} item coming from Home Decorators that I can't wait for! But for now I am loving our new accessories and freshening our home for spring!

{live beautifully}

  4. Your house is really pretty. All the changes you made since you moved in have made it so cozy and inviting. One question: I have a scale that looks like yours and mine is really heavy. How do you have yours hooked into the ceiling? Thanks-

  7. This is a nice setup, I really love the sofa and the basket! I think I am going to need these ornaments once me and my wife move to our new unit. We decided to finally get into a property investment in Singapore and we hope that all things will go smoothly according to plan.
