Back to School

Hello my lovelies! How are you? Thank you for all your kind comments on my last post and before and after picture of me : ) For those of you who asked, I lost the ten pounds by eating out a lot less (I never, ever eat fast food, but let me tell you Chipotle and Panera will get you!), watching my portions, and only eating sweets (cookies, candy, cake, ice cream, dessert) once per week. Honestly, it hasn't been too bad! My motto has just been "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" which is very true : )

Annnywayyy...I spent a fabulous weekend with my best girlfriends in Kansas City shopping, relaxing, giggling, chatting and wedding planning. It was too much fun! Of course we made a stop in Anthropologie. I have to say I'm sooo jealous of anyone who has an Anthro right where they live. Of course I took gratuitous display pics for you : )

This dress was entirely made out of hangers!!! I know everyone says this, but honestly Anthro's creativity never ceases to amaze me!

I loved this display of kitchenware. Those are fry boxes in the back : )

And, on a completely unrelated note, which is actually the point of this post, I thought I'd show you my latest project: a chalkboard globe. It was super easy to make and has a cool vintage school house feel. I paired it with vintage books for my wedding and some glass cloches.

I love how the numbers and notches turned out. I painted the ruled ring thing black then put white over it and wiped the white off with a wet paper towel, only leaving it in the grooves.

Oh, here's the before. Why hello 1950s!

Best of all, it was free. The globe was my grandmas and I just used paint I already had. That's the best kind of project!

All for now!

{live beautifully}
